Redrow coming to port sunlight

Home hunters in the Wirral will soon have nearly 200 new properties to choose from, when a leading house builder opens a new venture on the edge of Port Sunlight.
Redrow Homes has just been given planning permission for a new homes development of 192 properties – which will be a mixture of semi, detached and mews houses, as well as a selection of apartments.
The land, accessed off New Chester Road, was previously part of the Unilever Port Sunlight complex and housed some of its industrial buildings. As such, Redrow has worked alongside both Unilever and Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council to draw up the development plans.
Ian Wilkins, managing director for Redrow (North West) says: “We’re extremely pleased that planning permission has been granted for this site and are now looking forward to the launch of our new development, which will be called Woodlands Grange.
“Throughout the planning stages, we have tried to give the venture a unique look and the homes will feature a mix of appropriate elevational treatments, such as tile hangings, render and Tudor-style boarding. As we’re building close to the 19th century garden village, we wanted to take some architectural traits from the original village to keep the connection alive, but we have put our own style stamp on it.”
Woodlands Grange will also incorporate several areas of open space – including an equipped play area and a retained woodland with a through walkway.
Construction work in planned to start at the site at the end of January, with the first homes released for sale around Easter and the first properties ready for occupation later this year.
Would-be purchasers can register their interest in the Port Sunlight development by calling the regional sales office on 01928 755600. For information about other Redrow homes across the North West, call 0845 676 0500.
