Teen dream

After struggling to provide members with uniforms for months, Winkleigh Youth Club is now suited and booted thanks to a local house builder.

The local youth club has over 100 registered children and so when it comes to money they need all the support they can get. The club was in desperate need of uniforms for their 16 and over group and with a little generosity from Redrow they were able to provide smart new polo shirts to their members.

The youth group’s secretary, Brian Holland, said “We offer a great service in the local community providing fun and educational activities for the children, but it’s essential that we receive funding otherwise we’d find it hard to continue to provide this facility.”

“We’re always in need of funding and are all very grateful to Redrow for their generous contribution - it has made a real difference.”

The youth club, which has been in operation for over three years, actively seeks work placements with local employers for its members so they can gain experience within the working world.

Ed White, sales manager for Redrow Homes (West Country) says: “We’re always on the lookout for local causes to support, and were delighted to be able to supply the Winkleigh youth club with new polo shirts.

“We really admire the work that the youth club do and hope that our donation will help them to continue and grow.”

This year the youth club is planning walking and cycling day trips in the UK for their members and it may in the future take their group on a foreign trip to try and broaden their horizons.

There is also a survival weekend held later in the year for the group called the Yak and Yurt.

And for home-buyers wishing to broaden their property horizons will be impressed with Redrow’s exclusive Winkleigh Cross development.

Winkleigh Cross is a select community of 51 two, three and four-bedroom homes and is surrounded by open countryside, meaning that the development has the enviable advantage of being in a great rural location whilst still being close the village centre with its school, doctors, shop and more.

Currently available is the four-bedroom semi-detached Ouse, which has the benefit of living space being spread over three floors. Prices start from £244,995.
