Relocation, relocation…

Wed, Feb 21st 2007, 11:00

It’s not just house buyers who are on the move in Northampton - a house builder is getting in on the act too!

Staff at Redrow’s South Midlands operation, formerly based in a shared office in Cliftonville are used to ensuring their customers’ house moves are smooth. But they experienced it first-hand when the company packed up and relocated to its new home in purpose-built offices in The Lakes area of the town in November.

David Livingstone, managing director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “We’re a relatively new operation within the Redrow group – having started in 2003 - and in three short years our company has grown so much that our previous premises were just not big enough!

“By repositioning ourselves in a brand new purpose built office all of our own in Northampton, we have everything we need to grow the company even further. We didn’t want to move from the town as its perfectly positioned at the centre of where we build – across Bedfordshire, Warwickshire and Cambridgeshire, as well as in Northamptonshire.

“By investing in new offices we are also demonstrating our commitment to this part of the country and providing ourselves with a strong platform for future growth.”

Redrow has a strong presence across the South Midlands, with no less than six live developments in Corby, Desborough, Daventry, Leighton Buzzard, Long Itchington near Southam and Rushden. The house builder has also acquired land in St Neots, Cambridgshire, which will be developed to make way for around 250 new homes.

Redrow Homes (South Midlands) currently employs around 30 office-based staff as well as site based staff and also provides work for a substantial number of sub-contractors in the areas in which it builds.
