Time ticking for exclusive Barnsley homes

For those who want a touch of sophistication with their new home, along with plenty of space and a fantastic location, one house builder has all this and more.
With not one, but two popular new homes ventures – Treetops and Champany Fields - in the Barnsley area, Redrow Homes has been offering up great properties to the area for some time. And testament to the success of both developments is the fact that Treetops, just off Willbrook Rise, in Redbrook, has only three properties remaining and Champany Fields in Dodworth, is more than 50% sold.
A select development of just 21 properties, Treetops has an enviable location close to the open countryside. And if the urge for a trip to the shops comes along, the excitement of Barnsley town centre is only minutes away.
Julie Rayner, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) says: “It’s easy to see why the homes at Treetops have been snapped up – the location is great, and the properties themselves are incredibly desirable. Add to that the fact that the development only has a choice number of properties and you’ve got a winning combination.”
The last three remaining homes are all Malhams – a spacious three storey, three-bedroom design that gives a whole extra floor of living space.
Julie says: “Having living spread over three floors gives customers so many options when it comes to arranging their space and really suits people who want something creative and unique.”
The Malham offers an integral garage and its layout comprises a ground floor kitchen and dining area, cloakroom and the garage. Upstairs, there’s a rear-facing lounge, bedroom and the family bathroom, while the second floor comprises two double bedrooms, with an en-suite shower room on the master suite.
And to celebrate the final sales on the development, Redrow is offering some tempting incentives on these final properties. Already priced competitively at £168,995, the company will also take care of the 5% deposit as well as £500 toward legal fees.
Julie adds: “Now that the majority of people have moved in there is a great sense of community, and this combined with such great incentives means the last three homes won’t be available for long.”
If a new home is on the cards but you can’t move in time for Treetops, don’t panic, because just a short distance away is the delightful Champany Fields.
And this development has a surprise up its sleeve – all 67 of the homes are desirable detached properties.
Julie says: “It’s a real rarity to find a development of just detached properties, as government guidelines encourage developers to construct more space saving properties such as apartments and terraces or townhouses. And yet this is the type of house at the top of most people’s wish list, probably due to the extra space and privacy detached homes can offer. With this in mind, we always knew that buyers would find Champany Fields irresistible.”
Now in the second half of the development, there are several styles of home available. The three-bedroom Kennet and Hardwick properties are perfect for a growing family or couple in need of extra space, whilst the four-bedroom Otter and Ribble would suit a family wanting to ‘trade up’ to a larger space.
The Hardwick, priced from just £182,995, offers a spacious lounge and kitchen with separate dining area, along with a downstairs cloakroom on the ground floor. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms served by a family bathroom, alongside a large master bedroom with en-suite. There is also a detached single garage.
The Otter, which starts at £228,995, is a larger home with four bedrooms that would suit a family looking for more space. The ground floor comprises a separate lounge and dining room, fitted kitchen/ breakfast room, utility room and cloakroom, as well as an integral garage. The master bedroom with en-suite shower room, three further bedrooms and a family bathroom are all situated on the first floor above.
Champany Fields is a commuter’s dream - adjacent to Dodworth railway station, which offers commuter services to Barnsley (seven minutes), Huddersfield and Sheffield, and there is also convenient access to the M1 motorway just one mile away.
For buyers who have a home they need to sell before moving in, the house builder offers its ‘Mastermove’ service, designed to help people sell their property in three easy steps. Mastermove allows customers to ‘hold’ their dream Redrow home for up to four weeks, whilst Redrow takes care of selling their existing property – and all for a minimal fee of £50. Once their house has been sold and the transaction is complete on their brand new home, Redrow will then pay the estate agent’s fees and refund the £50 Mastermove fee.
Julie adds: “We’re really proud of how popular Champany Fields has been so far – it really has captured the imagination of buyers. The Mastermove scheme takes away much of the pressure associated with selling a house from the buyer, leaving them free to concentrate on the more enjoyable aspects of moving home – it really couldn’t be easier.”
