Homes to inspire

Thu, Mar 1st 2007, 11:00

Home hunters looking for some inspiration should pop down to Redrow’s Garncroft Wynd development in Glenboig to check out the new impressive view home.

Located off Glenboig Farm Road, the popular new homes venture now has a new star attraction in the shape of the three-storey four-bedroom Ribble view home – giving viewers an insight into an innovative property design.

Mary Mchutchison, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Scotland) says: “Choosing a new home is a big decision, and there’s nothing quite like seeing a property in the flesh to give you a feel for the place. The Ribble view home has been created to give buyers a glimpse of this property’s potential.”

The Ribble itself is a property with a secret up its sleeve – a ready made loft conversion. Many people often fork-out thousands of pounds for a conversion in an older property but if they choose this home at Garncroft Wynd, home hunters can have a luxurious ‘room in the roof’ already prepared and save themselves a lot of hard work and money.

Mary says: “The cleverly converted loft space – a sumptuous master suite – is a real treat in the Ribble, and having the extra floor of living space gives buyers a whole new dimension to their home which is great for those that like to have flexibility within their layout.”

The ground floor opens into a spacious hallway, with cloakroom and under-stairs storage. The lounge is to the front of the property, and double doors lead into the separate dining room which offers direct access to the rear garden. The fully fitted kitchen is to the left.

“The ground floor of the Ribble is just perfect for entertaining. You can open the double doors between the dining room and lounge to create one large space, or on a summer day you can fling the back patio doors open – ideal for when you want to throw a barbeque or eat alfresco,” says Mary.

Moving up, the first floor holds three bedrooms along with the family bathroom, while the whole top floor is given to the master bedroom with en-suite facilities.

Gillian says: “The best thing about the master bedroom is that it can be used in so many different ways. Parents might have it as their bedroom, offering a haven away from a bustling home, or it could be given to a teenager looking for some independence. And if you don’t need all four bedrooms, you could even use a bedroom on the middle floor as a home office, playroom or gym – the possibilities are endless!”

The Ribble is currently priced at £198,995.

The first phase of homes at Garncroft Wynd, located off Glenboig Farm Road, has been popular with buyers and is now almost complete. The new phase of 112 semi and detached three and four-bedroom homes is now available, and offers another chance to buy for house hunters who wish to make Glenboig their home.

Glenboig is approximately two miles north of Coatbridge, and excellent travel links will appeal to commuters. Access to the M73, A80 and M8 is nearby, and Glasgow city centre is only 10 miles away. Gartcosh railway station is also close by, offering a regular service to Glasgow Queen Street in less than 20 minutes.

Elsewhere, for buyers that hanker after the buzz of city life, Route 1 West, located in Anniesland, has plenty to offer.

A runaway success with those wanting a stylish apartment with all the attractions of Glasgow’s West End right on the doorstep, a selection of four-bedroom townhouses are now available to choose from.

Gillian Lannigan, area sales manager says: “The apartments at Route 1 West have been snapped right up, probably due to the great location and the fact that you get more space for your money here than in city centre schemes. But the demand for the townhouses is also good, as property of this size located so close to the city centre is quite a rarity – I’ve no doubt they are going to go quickly.”

A two-bedroom apartment currently starts at £175,500, and a four-bedroom townhouse with garage is priced from £299,995.
