Changes are underway in Newport and now it is fast-becoming the place to live, work and play thanks to regeneration and rejuvenation in the city.
Newport Unlimited, Newport’s urban regeneration company, which is spearheading transformation of the city, has helped to mark the beginning of the revival of Newport, to enable it to develop into a thriving 21st century centre for business, leisure and living.
And now, award winning developer Redrow is delighted to be playing a role in that transformation with its own waterfront regeneration scheme that will have a finished value in excess of £50 million.
It is in the Eastern area of Newport Unlimited’s planned regeneration that Redrow Homes (South Wales) is leading the way with the launch of its Alexandra Gate development.
Situated on the site of the former Black Clawson engineering works, off Usk Way, the flagship development will eventually consist of 399 contemporary homes, some of which will boast enviable views of the River Usk.
Debby Pavitt, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: “There is a lot of change afoot in Newport. The marketing suite at Alexandra Gate has just opened its doors and the development will feature a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced homes as well as apartments, so there is something to suit everyone from investors to growing families.
“The fact that this is the beginning of a major facelift for the city is sure to be particularly appealing to investors, who like to get in early so that they have more potential to maximise the value of their properties.”
Millions of pounds are set to be pumped into Newport over the next few years as it enjoys the same sort of investment that has changed the fortunes of Cardiff and Swansea.
Cardiff is the setting for another of Redrow’s developments hotly-tipped for investment opportunities. Celestia, the flagship apartment scheme in Cardiff Bay, opened the doors to its stunning new duplex show apartment in January, and since then there has been a flurry of interest in this stunning development.
Bev Wookey, area sales manager for Redrow, said: “Celestia will feature 457 properties, consisting of one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses at the heart of Cardiff Bay, and all within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Mermaid Quay.
“The location is great for investors as they know that it will prove attractive to potential tenants, but equally owner occupiers will have everything they need on their doorstep.”
The luxury apartments are adjacent to the iconic Wales Millennium Centre and Celestia has already been a phenomenal success.
Prices for properties at Celestia currently start from £169,995 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £186,995 for a two-bedroom property, up to £441,995 for a top-of-the-range penthouse with panoramic views of the Bay, Severn Estuary and/or city skyline.
Current availability at Redrow’s Alexandra Gate starts from £124,995 for a one-bedroom apartment, while two-bedroom apartments come with a £150,995 price tag. Four-bedroom properties are priced from £279,995.
