Redrow to top the order
Tue, May 23rd 2006, 11:00
Cricket great Dennis Amiss is to help launch Redrow’s flagship Hemisphere apartments on Wednesday May 31 at Warwickshire County Cricket Club in Edgbaston.
The outstanding England and Warwickshire batsman will be joined by some of Warwickshire County Cricket Club’s current stars for an evening’s celebration with drinks and canapés overlooking Edgbaston’s historic Test wicket – the scene of last year’s thrilling two-run victory over Australia in the Ashes.
Linda Androlia, sales director for Redrow Homes (West Midlands), says: “We cannot wait to welcome people to the launch celebrations of what will be our flagship development, Hemisphere. As well as being entertained within this famous cricket ground, revellers will be able to explore the show apartment within our Hemisphere marketing suite, which is literally just across the road from the Test ground.”
Invited guests will also have the chance to ask Dennis questions about his career and what he thinks of England’s chances of retaining the Ashes this winter. A brilliant right handed batsman, Dennis’ Test career spanned from 1966 to 1977. He scored 11 half-centuries and 11 centuries, including two double centuries against the West Indies. He also holds the record for scoring England’s first ever one-day international century.
Linda says: “It will be a fitting night of celebration for the launch of Hemisphere, a breathtaking scheme of 344 one and two-bedroom apartments and penthouses finished to the highest standard with an unrivalled specification and a superb location to match.”
Cannon Hill Park is on the doorstep with its wildflower meadow, lakes and woodlands plus tennis courts, bowling and putting greens, cycle routes alongside the River Rea and footpaths for walking and running.
As the name ‘Hemisphere’ suggests, rural beauty and respite is only half the story. Less than a mile away in the other direction is Birmingham city centre with its awesome shopping, clubs, bars, entertainment and cultural diversions.
Hemisphere will be the impressive residential element within the £100 million nine acre mixed-use scheme Edgbaston Mill, which will become a prestigious place to both live and work and will include commercial, retail, hotel and leisure space.
The ground works and construction of the apartments will start in July and the first occupations are expected in autumn 2007. Prices will start from circa £160,000.
