Making an impression

Fri, Mar 30th 2007, 11:00

One sales consultant in Westbury has shown true dedication to her role – by putting her ‘art’ and soul into her work.

Angie Cotterill is part of the sales team at Redrow’s popular Lakelands Edge development and has provided a helping hand by adorning the brand new show home with her original artwork.

The budding artist, who lives in Lower Vobster, has combined her working life with her hobby and added her own personal touch to the Malham show home.

Angie says: “I have always loved art and continued to paint after completing my degree in fine art at Staffordshire University. I was asked to create some artwork for the show home after my manager found out about my interest.

“Now there are eight pieces set to be displayed. It’s so nice to combine two important aspects of my life and I hope visitors to the Malham enjoy looking at my work as much as I enjoyed creating it.”

The show home, which will launch this weekend (April 7th), showcases Angie’s talent.

Lorraine Kendrick, sales director for Redrow Homes (South West), says: “Home buyers at Lakelands Edge will be motivated by Angie’s artwork, which decorates various walls throughout the show property and adds a homely feel, enabling potential buyers to picture life at this popular development. To be able to fuse a great sales technique with artistic flair is a fantastic achievement and we are proud to unveil Angie’s work.”
The paintings, which are landscapes inspired by the surrounding Wiltshire countryside, reflect and enhance the colours used in the design of the property.

Redrow’s chosen interior design company, Connections in Design, were stirred by the lake overlooked by the development into creating a tranquil look for the new show house.

Welcoming guests with a textured, wood effect wallpaper in the hall, with floral green fabric to dress the windows, the calming theme continues in the lounge with woven effect raffia wallpaper and soft upholstered sofas in delicate colours of duck egg blue, pale green, cream and stone.

In the kitchen the show home’s soothing ‘earth’ style is complemented with green and cream wallpaper, co-ordinating green cushions and a contemporary glass and chrome table to optimise space with the latest contemporary look.

Upstairs the delicate, soft tones have been designed to aid rest and provide a lull for customers.  The most glamorous room in the house, the master bedroom, features wallpaper with a fresh, large orchid flower on the bed wall.  Soft linens and velvets with natural trims complete the relaxed setting.

The natural, organic style is continued in the second bedrooms with soft creams and pale blue.  Meanwhile the third bedroom has been decorated as a guest room and artist’s hobby room, with a desktop easel.

The stunning bathroom has been fitted with natural accessories to complete the harmonious look between outside and in.

Lorraine adds: “The showhome is as inventive as nature.  We have created a soothing environment to match the views outside.”

The Malham show home features an open plan family/dining and kitchen area on the ground floor, a spacious lounge, family bathroom and bedroom on the first floor and the second floor boasts master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a further bedroom.

Lorraine explains: “The Malham is a fantastic property with appeal for buyers from all walks of life, from growing families who want to spread out over three floors and give the kids a floor to themselves, to downsizers who can convert a room into a home gym, study or as a bedroom for visiting guests – the possibilities in the Malham really are endless!”

The first new homes are set to be ready for occupation in June. Inside, their specification includes fully fitted kitchen with stainless steel oven, hob and cooker hood, with a stylish choice of finishes for kitchen cabinets and worktops. Bathrooms feature elegant white Ideal Standard suites, with chrome finish taps and a choice of tiling to complement.

Lorraine says: “The variety of homes makes this development suitable for all kinds of home buyers, including young professionals, families and empty nesters – it really is an all-rounder.”

Lakelands Edge enjoys an idyllic and well connected location - approximately 12 miles from the historical city of Bath.  The railway station is within walking distance with trains to London taking approximately an hour and a half.  The development is close to two lakes and countryside alive with wildlife. The famous White Horse hill carving is also visible from this highly desirable venture.
