Flaming hot fun in South Wales

Thu, Apr 26th 2007, 11:00

Summer is here and Redrow is celebrating it with a bang(er) by hosting BBQ ‘fun days’ at two developments on Sunday 6th and Bank Holiday Monday 7th May.

And not only that – reservations taken on the weekend will receive a patio heater, stylish gas barbeque and a garden table and chairs for their new home on completion.

Bev Wookey, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales) says: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming visitors to our barbeque fun days over the Bank Holiday weekend, we will have great food, great properties to look at, and of course – great fun!

“We’ll be celebrating from 12pm-4pm on both days, and hope to see visitors tucking in to some tasty food whilst deciding on their perfect Redrow home.”

The BBQ fun days will be taking place at the Dôl Gorwel development in North Cornelly, and at the Cwm Calon development in Ystrad Mynach, near Caerphilly.

The popular Dôl Gorwel development offers buyers an appealing choice of  three and four-bedroom properties, with current prices from £159,995 and £189,950 respectively.

One of the properties currently on the menu at Dôl Gorwel is the ‘Parrett’ – a spacious four-bedroom detached home. It boasts an en-suite bathroom, utility room and separate dining room, as well as enjoying the benefits of added under stairs storage, a downstairs cloakroom and an integral single garage.

Situated close to the seaside resort of Porthcawl, Dôl Gorwel is also within walking distance of the magnificent Kenfig Nature Reserve which offers beautiful walks across the stunning Welsh sand dunes.

Cwm Calon, in Ystrad Mynach, is a striking development of stylish three, four and five-bedroom properties, priced from £182,950, £184,995 and £309,950 respectively.

The tasty choice of properties at Cwm Calon includes the four-bedroom ‘Neale’ townhouse, an elegant and spacious home that reflects modern living with classic style.

The Neale boasts an en-suite bathroom, separate dining room, detached single garage and plenty of storage.

Redrow’s Cwm Calon development is part of a wider regeneration of the former Penallta Colliery, which will eventually also see the refurbishment of the colliery’s power hall, winding towers, ancillary buildings and two lakes.

The immediate amenities of Ystrad Mynach and the town of Caerphilly are close by and for commuters there are good road and rail links for the 14-mile journey south to Cardiff. Surrounding the old colliery, Groundwork Caerphilly has already created a community park of some 180 hectares offering countryside walks.
