A touch of class in Cwmbran

Tue, Jun 12th 2007, 11:00

Residents in Cwmbran have a star in their midst in the shape of a Miss Wales finalist who – when she’s not adding to her impressive property portfolio - is on a mission to raise the awareness of a very special charity.

Bethan Vaughan, 20, now has a two-bedroom apartment at Redrow’s John Fielding Gardens in Cwmbran, Gwent, to add to her growing collection of Redrow properties – and shares it with her dad, Robert. Bethan also owns properties in Redrow’s stunning Celestia development in Cardiff Bay, and shows no signs of stopping yet.

Bethan says: “My father has previous experience in the property sector and I put his expertise to good use when I decided to invest in my Redrow homes.

“We had a look around and chose Redrow because their properties are built to a high standard, and I was impressed with the locations. I found Redrow to be very helpful; they made the whole process of purchasing my homes a quick and easy experience.”

John Fielding Gardens is an attractive development situated in the picturesque village of Llantarnam, on the outskirts of Cwmbran.  The sought-after development incorporates sumptuous designs with contemporary living. Its sophisticated aesthetics and designs lend themselves to those who wish to invest in a property that will exude confidence, accomplishment and lavish comfort.

Of John Fielding Gardens, Bethan says: “I was impressed with the lovely setting of the development and I thought the property was a good price, as well as being the perfect size and design for my needs.

“Although I am going to study medicine and nutrition at university, I have always seen a career in property as a sideline to my medical one – it’s a hobby that has great benefits!”

If Bethan’s life doesn’t sound busy enough already, she has also made it into the final 40 contestants for the annual Miss Wales competition – to be held on Saturday 7th July in Cardiff.

Bethan explains: “I have always wanted to be part of Miss Wales since I was a little girl but I never had the confidence. When my mum sadly passed away, I decided I should just go for it – and now I’m in the final, I’m so excited.

“The competition is also supporting a charity that is close to my heart – The Joshua Foundation - that provides holidays and experiences for children and their families who are terminally ill with cancer. It was one of the deciding factors for me when thinking about entering the competition; as soon as I knew that The Joshua Foundation was involved I decided to do it.

“The difference with The Joshua Foundation is that they can offer on-going experiences instead of one-offs, effectively ‘adopting’ the children and their families and providing them with lasting memories. I’m glad I can help raise awareness for this wonderful charity and will be carrying on with my fundraising long after the competition is over.”

Bethan grew up in nearby Pontypool and knows the area well – citing the location as one of her main reasons for selecting a property at the magnificent John Fielding Gardens.

Debby Pavitt, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales) says: “We are delighted that young, ambitious people such as Bethan view Redrow homes as a sound investment for their future – be it in the shape of a growing portfolio, or simply their first step onto the property ladder.”

John Fielding Gardens currently has a choice of four and five-bedroom homes, priced from £444,950 and £459,995 respectively.

Cwmbran is a growing town that offers an increasing amount of local amenities such as shops, banks, restaurants, pubs and sports facilities. Close to the all-important M4 corridor, the cities of Newport and Cardiff are both easily reached, as is Bristol.
