‘Stepping out’ with Redrow

Wed, Jul 18th 2007, 11:00

Tap-dancing in her spare time helps give new Redrow sales director Diana Newton the energy and co-ordination she needs for her hectic new role.

Diana (pictured) has joined Redrow Homes (Scotland) at its Larbert-based operation, responsible for sales across Scotland’s central belt, after five years as sales director with Barratt East Scotland, in Edinburgh.

Prior to that she worked her way through the ranks from trainee sales consultant to sales manager with the same housebuilder and has a total of 22 years experience in the new homes industry.

Diana, who lives near West Linton, in the Scottish Borders with her partner Paul, said: “Joining Redrow is a fantastic opportunity for me, with the challenge of operating across a wider geographical area and offering a real diversity of product from first time buyer properties to family housing, city centre apartments and high-value detached executive homes.

“Over the years I’ve worked cheek-by-jowl with Redrow in different parts of the UK and have always admired them as a very innovative developer with a good quality product. It’s great to be part of the team and I’m looking forward to helping to increase Redrow’s presence and performance in Scotland.”

Redrow has already stated its intentions to significantly expand the output of high quality new homes it builds in Scotland over the next five years from the current level of 500 per annum and to introduce the brand to new areas.

Soon to launch is the company’s first venture in Perthshire, 33 luxury new homes in the village of Aberuthven, near to the prestigious Gleneagles hotel and golf resort. The company is also preparing to go on sale at Riverside Point, in Braehead, with the first of more than 340 new homes.

The company is also working with BAE Systems in a bid to transform the former Royal Ordnance Factory site at Bishopton with a mixed-use scheme that would include around 2,500 new homes.

Diana adds: “These are exciting times for Redrow in Scotland and, as we strive to expand the land bank, I will be looking to increase reservations and legal completions year on year.”

As well as putting on her dancing shoes in her spare time, to tap dance twice weekly at classes run by a friend, Diana enjoys socialising and entertaining, plus horse riding when time allows.

Existing Redrow developments are underway close to Glasgow and Edinburgh city centres and in Dunfermline, Lanark and Glenboig, with further details available by calling 0845 676 0500.
