Redrow and Bryant join forces with police in Trafford

Developers Redrow and Bryant Homes have done their bit to help build a safer community in Trafford by sponsoring a new mobile police unit.

The joint developers of eco-friendly Stamford Brook off Manchester Road, Altrincham, have each donated £5,000 towards the vehicle, which has just been launched by Greater Manchester Police.

Inspector Simon Wright and Superintendent John Graves, of Greater Manchester Police’s Trafford Division, unveiled the unit in Altrincham town centre watched by Paul Brickles, project manager for Redrow Homes North West and Elaine Smith, Bryant North West sales manager.

The vehicle will help the police to get right into the heart of local communities, giving residents easy access to GMP’s services.

It will be a fully operational policing unit, connected to mains electricity, a telephone network and equipped with the IT specification required for a police station. 

Paul Brickles, project manager for Redrow Homes, North West, speaking on behalf of both developers, says: “Bryant and Redrow Homes, joint developers of Stamford Brook in Altrincham, are committed to getting involved in the local area.

“We are delighted to have worked alongside Greater Manchester Police on this exciting and important project and are glad to have given our support to the local community.”

Stamford Brook is a joint venture between Bryant Homes and Redrow Homes, in association with former landowners the National Trust, which aims to provide residents with a truly sustainable community.

Every home in the venture has been designed to be ultra-efficient in its use of energy, water and building materials.

The natural environment surrounding the development is also used to maximum effect. Sinderland Brook, which runs through the site, is the subject of the largest river restoration project of its kind in England, and a new community woodland is planned. Plenty of green recreational space promotes outdoor pursuits, while cycle paths and walkways encourage less use of private vehicles.
