A winning combination with Redrow

Sandals under-16 rugby team, based in Wakefield, are on a winning streak and, thanks to a generous donation from local house builder Redrow, they are doing it in style.
Redrow stepped up with sponsorship money that has gone towards paying for a new kit after being contacted by the squad’s fundraising manager, David Tottiet.
David explains: “The boys have been playing amazingly well since the club was founded in1996. Although we have had kits before we wanted to gain sponsorship from a well-known and respected local company and looked no further than Redrow.
“We approached them with our request and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Within no time at all we had the designs for the new kits and were on our way to the printers to make them a reality. The final product has been amazing. Not only have we been able to supply all the players with full kits but the coaches have new shirts as well. It offers a tremendous sense of unity when we go out as a team. We really can’t thank Redrow enough for their generosity."
The money that Redrow provided enabled the team to purchase a fantastic kit for all the players and coaches, each proudly emblazoned with the Redrow name in bold red, contrasting perfectly with the eye-catching orange of the shirts fabric.
But it is not just the shirts that will be catching people’s attention, as the team’s overwhelming success will continue to pull in the crowds. The team reached the semi final of the Yorkshire plate and beat of stiff competition from rivals Dimmington to win the competition by a massive 18 points. Following in the wake of their success in several mini festivals including Saracens Festival, Stratford Festival and the Sandal Festival, the team has also embarked on a number of rugby tours, taking on the competition in Blackpool, Scotland and South Wales.
Julie Rayner, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), which is based in Wakefield, said: “We recognise the importance of corporate support for amateur sports and Redrow goes to great lengths to help such groups. Not only are we helping to maintain the health and fitness of members of the communities in which we operate, but we could also be encouraging future professional talent.”
Redrow recently retained the Business in the Community Percent Standard for the third consecutive year for giving at least 1% of its pre-tax profits back to the community in cash donations, sponsorship, gifts in kind or management/employee time.
