King Sturge backs country homes for city workers

Fri, Sep 7th 2007, 08:30

A luxurious new Redrow development close to South East Wales countryside and the M4 corridor has attracted the interest of Cardiff and Bristol estate agents.

Two branches of the estate agent and residential property specialist King Sturge are keen to be linked to John Fielding Gardens, in Llantarnam, Cwmbran.

Redrow’s sophisticated and contemporary venture on the edge of thriving Newport is  equi-distant from the major cities of Cardiff and Bristol, so appealing to people who have connections in both locations.

Both offices of King Sturge will now share in helping to promote the development.

Jonathan Matthews from King Sturge in Cardiff is in a better position than most to appreciate the attractions of Llantarnam. He lives locally, and this area was chosen due to the proximity to Cardiff and Bristol.

He said: “When we moved to the area, I was working in Cardiff and my wife was working in Bristol and the location proved to be an ideal base to share the commute in opposite directions.

“And, of course, it’s a beautiful area.

“Brand new homes  that comes with a builder’s guarantee and require very little maintenance are ideal for the modern, busy family who want to spend quality time together – not every weekend doing repairs.”

Mary Simpkins from King Sturge’s office in Bristol said: “Local people need good quality, affordable homes in an area that is within easy reach of their workplaces and where they like to socialise. These properties are luxurious, spacious and comfortable – they make the perfect family home.”

Redrow area sales manager Debby Pavitt says demand for the properties is already strong: “The homes have been designed with the family very much in mind – they have every comfort you could desire but still nod to tradition and have every modern convenience today’s family could wish for.”

Among the available properties is the five-bedroom detached Wharfe, a spacious family home arranged over three floors. The roof space has been cleverly converted to create two bedrooms and a bathroom, perfect for guests or to give older children some privacy. The space could also be used for a home office or a games room.

The ground floor contains a fully-fitted kitchen and utility room, and the lounge runs the full length of the house with French doors opening onto the back garden. Priced from £457,995, the property also includes a separate dining room.

Also available is the traditional two-storey Windermere style, five-bedroom detached home, whose feature-filled ground floor includes a fully fitted breakfast kitchen and separate family room, lounge, dining room and study. Both the master bedroom and bedroom two include en-suite facilities and the master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe. Prices are from £481,995.

Being brand new, these homes come with gas central heating and double glazed windows as standard. They are also well insulated, more energy efficient than older second hand properties and will require little or no maintenance for years to come. For additional peace of mind, they carry the National House-Building Council’s 10 year ‘Buildmark’ warranty.

For home owners wishing to be part of John Fielding Gardens, Redrow can potentially speed up their move with an offer to part exchange their existing property on selected new homes.  Other incentives include opting for £1,000 per calendar month to subsidise mortgage payments for the first year.

Would-be home owners can find out more by visiting the development between 10am and 5.30pm daily to view the stunning Windermere show home; call 0845 676 0316,  or log on to http://www.redrow.co.uk/developments/view/61.
