Children from Scartho Junior School were in for a surprise when they had their very own teddy bears picnic at Redrow’s development, Kirk’s Paddock.

Over 40 year three pupils dined on sandwiches and snacks made by the sales consultants in the show home garden of Kirk’s Paddock.

However it was not only a treat for the seven and eight year olds as the sales consultants also had a fantastic time.

Fon Willett, sales consultant at Kirk’s Paddock says: “We were just as excited as the children. They had all painted their favourite toy and it was up to us to judge. Every single drawing was fantastic and it was very hard choosing the winner.”

However, after much deliberation, Fon chose eight year old Marcus Edwards’ painting of his dinosaur as the winner.

Marcus received a £50 Ramsden toy store voucher and runners up Souad Samkor, aged 8, and Jade Midgley, aged 7, each won a £25 voucher.

Joanne Lyons, year three teacher at Scartho Junior School, says: “It was really kind of Redrow to invite us to the teddy bears picnic. The children have been planning what to paint for weeks and every single one of them has done a wonderful job. The weather was gorgeous and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.”

The teddy bear’s picnic was just another event organised by Redrow to benefit the communities that they build in.

Julie Rayner, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) says: “Kirk’s Paddock is close to Scartho Junior School and we wanted to show the children what was happening at the development. We have a good relationship with the school and have recently sponsored their rugby team which has enabled them to buy new shirts.”

“We feel it is important to support the communities we build in and the teddy bears picnic was a prime example of the huge success of our local events. The weather was gorgeous and both the children and staff really had fun.”
