Happily Redrow after for couple who found love on a building site

Love blossomed on a building site for one happy couple in Chippenham who have just tied the knot.

Newly-weds Sarah and Mark Hughes met two years ago on the site of Fenway Park, a new Redrow Homes development, where Sarah works as a sales advisor and Mark as an assistant site manager.

As the houses slowly took shape brick by brick so did the couple’s relationship and they walked up aisle this summer at Kingston St Michael’s Church, just outside of Chippenham.

Sarah, 31, said: “We met when we both started working at Fenway Park. I’d speak to Mark to get information about the site and we just clicked and it went from there.
“We don’t have a problem living and working together. In fact, we’re both moving to a new site together next month in Malmesbury so everyone else must think we get on well too.

“We don’t really see each other that much through the day because we’re both so busy but it’s very handy having him here if I ever need to know anything about the site. I’m an expert in site management now.

“We don’t tend to talk about work too much when we get home so we get that balance between work and relaxation.

The couple held their wedding reception at the stunning Bowood Golf and Country Club and many of their Redrow colleagues attended.

Mark, 26, who is currently working towards gaining his site management qualification, said: “We had the whole team there. It was a great day. We were so lucky with the weather too because it rained right up until the Friday, then it was sunny for our wedding on the Saturday, then it started raining again on the Sunday.”

They jetted off to Zante for their honeymoon for a week before returning to their home in Chippenham.

Sarah, who has two sons, aged nine and five, from a previous relationship, added: “We only took a week because we were taking another holiday with the boys. We’ve recently finished doing up our house and maybe one day we might go into property developing.”

The couple will both soon be transferring to Redrow’s Cowbridge Mill development, in Malmesbury, as there are just 11 properties left at the popular Fenway Park venture on Bristol Road.

Sandra Hughes, sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “We are all delighted for Sarah and Mark and it’s great to think that working for Redrow brought them both together.

“I wish them all the happiness for the future now they will be working together at the lovely site we have in Malmesbury by the River Avon.”
