Bedminster’s West Street is home to a number of excellent restaurants, including Zall Tandoori, Mezzaluna Cafe and the Thai Garden, and there are many more great eateries to be found along North Street. Education

Abode is all about living life your way, and Bristol education is exactly the same. You can choose from a number of good local primary schools, including Parson Street Primary and Victoria Park Primary which are both within a short walk of home, as well as the OFSTED ‘Good’ rated Ashton Park senior school which is just a short bus ride away.

Bedminster has a thriving local community and is known as Bristol’s second largest shopping area after the city centre itself. Centred on North Street, West Street and East Street, there is something for everyone, from lively markets to interesting independent stores, major chains to local butchers and greengrocers. With so much available right on your doorstep, you may never need to venture into the city to shop.

However Bristol city centre is still well worth investigating, as it is famous for its shopping, including the Galleries and Cabot Circus shopping centres. You’ll also find excellent out of town shopping around the city, such as the Avonmead Retail Park and South Bristol Retail Park.

Transport

Abode Bedminster lies just a mile and a half from the city centre, making it an easy walk if you want to avoid the city centre traffic jams and parking problems. There are also regular busses into town.

The development lies close to the A38, which links to Bristol Airport in just over 6miles, and crosses the A4, which leads east to Bath in just 14 miles, or west to the M5 in around 8miles. The M4 can be reached by crossing Bristol, or by taking the ring road to the M32 link road.

Trains from Bristol Temple Meads take around an hour and forty minutes to London, and there are also links to Exeter, Birmingham and Plymouth from the station.

Ways to Help You Move

Help-to-buy
With Help to Buy you can purchase a brand new Abode Home in England with just a 5% deposit and enjoy lower monthly mortgage repayments. It enables those who have saved at least a 5% deposit to take out an equity loan from the Government for up to 20% of the purchase price.

Unlike the Government’s ‘FirstBuy’ scheme, all types of purchasers can apply for an equity loan through ‘Help to Buy’, not just first time buyers. It is available exclusively on new homes.

 Help to Buy Equity Loan

  • Only available on new build homes.
  • The Government will lend you up to 20% of the value of your new property through an equity loan which is interest free for 5 years
  • This means that only a 75% mortgage will need to be secured from a bank or building society.
  • In England, this scheme is available on house purchases up to the value of £600,000.
  • This scheme is not available in Wales.
