Woodley has a good selection of local restaurants and gastro pubs, including Cozze restaurant and Bosco Lounge, plus the Bull & Chequers and The George.

Further afield, Reading has a much wider selection, including exotically named establishments such as Nisby’s, Bhoj and Miah’s Garden of Gulab, all of which come highly recommended on Trip Advisor. Reading’s Oracle Shopping Centre also has a good choice of riverside eateries, where you can dine beside the banks of the Kennet.

Providing a good choice of high quality education is always a priority when we choose a location for Redrow homes, and Woodley is no exception. You can choose between several popular primary schools close to the development, including Rivermead Primary, Beechwood Primary, St Dominic Savio Catholic Primary and Woodley C of E Primary.

Older children have a choice of specialist schools in the town, with Waingels College specialising in maths and computing, while Bulmershe School specialises in sports. Nearby Reading also offers top class independent education, including the Reading Blue Coat School for boys and The Abbey School for girls.

Woodley has a popular shopping centre, with many of the main high street names represented. You’ll also find a regular Saturday market in the town, along with a Farmers’ market on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Nearby Reading offers an even wider choice, with the Oracle Shopping Centre and the Broad Street Mall. Reading also has a number of out of town shopping outlets, including Brunel, Mills, Reading Link and White Knights Retail Parks.

Woodley is ideal for commuters, whether you work in one of the local towns, or in the city of London. The A329(M) passes through the town, linking to the M4 and to the M3 around 14 miles beyond. Reading is 4 miles, Wokingham is 5 miles and Bracknell in around 9 miles. Central London can be reached in under 40 miles, with Heathrow Airport even closer at just 24 miles.

The nearest station is Early, which has regular trains to Waterloo in around an hour and fifteen minutes. However it can be quicker to drive to Twyford Station, just 3½ miles away, which has six services an hour to Paddington, and a journey time of just 43 minutes. There are over 300 spaces at Twyford, making it easy to park and ride.
