Cottenham is home to three pubs, including the Chequers, where you’ll find great pub grub. The Curry Palace is also popular for a tasty night out in the village. Nearby villages also offer a range of restaurants, including Paraiso Mexican restaurant in Chittering, The Black Horse pub in Rampton and the Duke of Wellington in Willingham.
Naturally, Cambridge has a much wider choice, with Restaurant 22, Cotto, Midsummer House and Vanderlyle highly regarded for fine dining and Novi, Taj Tandoori and Amelie Flam-kuche offering more moderately priced food. With a large student population, Cambridge also has plenty of budget-friendly restaurants.

The village of Cottenham has its own primary and secondary schools, with Cottenham Primary rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, and Cottenham Village College rated ‘good with outstanding 16-19 study programmes’. Both are within walking distance of the development and both play a big part in local village life. Alternatives can be found in nearby villages, at Willingham Primary and Impington Village College, both of which are rated ‘good’. Cambridge also has a selection of independent schools.
For stay at home students who want to cut the cost of studies, Cambridge offers a choice of universities, including the world class colleges of the University of Cambridge, ranked number two in the UK and number three in the world, and Anglia Ruskin University, which also has a campus in the city.

ShoppingCambridge was voted Britain’s Best Retail Location for the second year running in 2019, reflecting the huge choice of superb shopping available in the city. From the Grand Arcade, The Grafton Shopping Centre and Lion Yard, to the quirky independent stores lining Kings Parade and Bridge Street, there really is something for everyone. There’s also a street market held daily in the Market Square close to the famous King’s College.
Cottenham has a good selection of traditional shops and stores along the High Street, with a similar selection available in other local villages.

The development lies midway between the A14 and the A10, with rapid links to the M11 towards London. Cambridge is just 5miles away, with park and ride facilities available at Milton Road to avoid the complications of city parking. There are regular buses into the city, with the Cambridge Guided Busway passing close to the development at Oakington and Histon. Huntingdon is 17miles, Peterborough 35miles, Newmarket 15miles and London is around an hour and a half drive via the M11.
Rail services can be accessed at Waterbeach Station, 5miles away, with trains to Cambridge taking 10minutes and direct trains to London Victoria taking just over an hour.
Cambridge has a local airport for charter and pleasure flights, with the nearest scheduled flights available at London Stanstead around 35miles away via the M11.
