Broughton Primary School is a focus of village life, and is just a few minutes walk from the development. Described by OFSTED as a happy school that pupils enjoy, it provides an excellent start in life. Alternatively, St Peter’s independent school, on the edge of Kettering, offers private education for ages 3 to 11.For older pupils, Kettering has a wide selection of schools, including Southfield School, for girls aged 11-18 and 6th form boys, Kettering Buccleuch Academy, Latimer Community Arts College, Southfield School and the Bishops Stopford School.
All are within a short bus ride of the village of Broughton. Kettering Science Academy, part of the Brooke Weston Trust, offers education from age 3-18.

The village lies on the A43, just west of the A14, the major east west trunk road linking the M1/M6 to the east coast. Wellingborough is just 9 miles, Corby 10 miles, Northampton 12 miles and Leicester 28 miles. The M1 northbound and M6 can be accessed at the Cathorpe Interchange, 22 miles away, while the M1 southbound is just 12 miles away at Northampton.Nearby Kettering Station has direct trains to London every fifteen minutes or so in peak times, with a journey time of just an hour. Regular trains also run to Leicester, with a journey time of just 22 mins. East Midlands Airport and Luton Airport are both approximately 50 miles away.

Broughton has a friendly local pub, the Red Lion, and a popular community centre, which is home to a range of activities, from Badminton and bowls to amateur dramatics, scouts and guides. Further afield, Kettering has a choice of two theatres as well as an Odeon cinema.For a day out, try Brixworth Country Park, for the fishing and sailing of Pitsford Water, or visit the magnificent country house and grounds of Boughton House. Wicksteed Theme Park is also a great fun day out with everything from amusements to rollercoasters set within 147 acres of Grade II parkland.
Arena Sports, close to the development to the west of Kettering, is the National Volleyball Centre, and has excellent facilities for this and other sports. Golfers will enjoy the challenge of Kettering Golf Course, just a few minute drive away.

The Red Lion in the village offers an excellent selection of tasty food, and was voted Rural Pub of the Year by Northamptonshire CAMRA. You’ll also discover a number of other friendly inns in the local villages, including the Three Cranes in Great Cransley, The Hare at Loddington and the Monk and Minstrel in Isham – as well as an excellent chip shop.Kettering, just two miles away from Cransley Green, has a wide choice of restaurants to choose from for a memorable evening out, including Kafe Bloc, Frank’s Italian, the Exotic Dining (Indian) and Palmichael – all of which come highly recommended.
The fine dining of Barton Hall, Barton Seagrave is also highly recommended.
