Ferrers Park, Lechlade

Station Road, Lechlade, Gloucestershire, GL7 3ET

Station Road,Lechlade,Gloucestershire,GL7 3ET Map

Comprising of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties, Ferrers Park combines the traditional with the contemporary. Cotswold Stone exteriors allow the properties to blend in with the surrounding traditional architecture, whilst the Heritage interiors allow for all the requirements of modern life.

Lechlade-on-Thames is a small market town located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the Eastern section of the Cotswold Water Park. At the centre of the town is the market place where a monthly market for locally produced foods was reinstated in 2010 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the granting of the town’s Market Charter. There is plenty to do in Lechlade, with many local walks around the town including part of the Thames Path, six pubs and leisure activities such as sailing and fishing available on the lakes.

Dining

With a tourist trade comes a wealth of excellent restaurants, and Lechlade diners are truly spoiled for choice. Try Pinos, Colleys or L’Artigiano in the town, or River Vale or the Riverside beside the river.

As you would expect from the Cotswolds, there is also an endless choice of old country inns in the area, most of which do excellent food. The Old Swan, the Trout and the Five Alls are all highly recommended.

Education

Education can be a concern in rural areas, but not in Lechlade. The town has its own popular primary school, St Lawrence Church of England Primary, at the heart of the community, where all local children attend, while younger children looked after by Lechlade Little Learners Pre-School.

Older children will naturally have to travel to school, but it’s well worth the trip, with the nearby Farmors School rated ‘outstanding’ in the latest OFSTED report. There is a regular school bus from Lechlade to Farmors.
