EducationHoplands couldn’t be better placed for local schools, with the Ofsted ‘good’ rated Hersden Village Primary and the ‘outstanding’ rated Spires Academy both within walking distance. Spires Academy is a specialist business and enterprise school, as well as a specialist visual, creative and performing arts school. Sturry CofE Primary offers an alternative to Hersden Village, and is rated ‘outstanding’ across the board by Ofsted.
Nearby Canterbury is home to some of the finest independent schools in the country, including St Edmunds School and The King’s School – the oldest school in England. Canterbury is also home to no less than three universities, for students who wish to stay at home to cut the cost of their studies.

LeisureListed as a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the historic city of Canterbury is one of the most visited places in England. There’s always plenty to explore and the city has a full calendar of special events to entertain the whole family. Canterbury is also home to two cinemas and two theatres, providing a wide range of evening entertainment.
For sports, head for DW Sports and Fitness on the outskirts of Canterbury, or Kingsmead Leisure Centre, or book a round of golf at Canterbury Golf Club. Golfers can also choose from the many excellent links courses along the Kent coast.
Closer to home, you can get out and explore the Kent countryside at Stodmarsh Nature Reserve or take a stroll along the Stour Valley Walk and enjoy the wildlife of the Westbere Marshes.

TransportHersden is located on the main A28 Canterbury road, with the city just 5miles away. Margate is 12miles, Dover is 23miles and London is 70 miles to the west.
Sturry station is just a few minutes from the development and has services into Canterbury in just 4 minutes and direct to Ashford International in just 22minutes, where you can connect with Eurostar continental services to Paris, Brussels and beyond via the Channel Tunnel. Services from Canterbury West connect directly to London St Pancras in as little as 54minutes, with a huge choice of trains during peak times.
