Several local pubs do great home cooked food, including the Kings Arms, the Lewis Arms, the Creigiau Inn and Caesar’s Arms. Llantwit Fardre is home to China Village, while Taffs Well hosts Positano Italian and Spice Connoisseur Asian. 

Head into the city and you’ll discover a massive choice for every taste and budget, with The Clink, Café Citta and De Courcey’s Manor all receiving a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor. Cardiff Bay is an especially attractive area for an evening out, immersing you in the atmosphere of this cosmopolitan waterside venue.

Education

Pentyrch Primary School is the centre of village life for young families, and most children from the village attend. It has a strong sense of community and provides an excellent environment for younger children to grow and develop.
  

From there, children normally progress to Radyr Comprehensive School, which is just four miles from the development. This lies close to the local station so you can conveniently combine the school run with your commute.

There are a number of alternative high schools in and around Cardiff, along with several good quality private schools, including Howell’s School for girls, The Cathedral School and Kings Monkton which are both co-ed.

There is plenty to do in the local village, with a range of sports clubs for cricket, tennis, football and rugby, plus there is a tennis club in nearby Pentyrch. You’ll also find a choice of challenging golf courses within easy reach, including Creigiau, Radyr and Whitchurch golf clubs. Cardiff International Sports Village has a huge range of facilities, with everything from white water canoeing to ice skating all at one incredible venue in the city.

For spectators, there is a choice of football at Cardiff City, or rugby union at the Millennium Stadium. Top class cricket from Glamorgan and England can be found at Sophia Park.

For evening entertainment, Cardiff has a selection of theatres and cinemas, including an Odeon iMax Cinema at the Red Dragon Centre on Cardiff Bay. Cardiff Motorpoint Arena is a regular stop on most major tours, and attracts the world’s best performers. 

Closer to home there’s a good selection of friendly country pubs in the area, as well as regular events at the village hall which is the centre for a variety of activities for community groups of all ages, and a popular venue for all kinds of events and social gatherings from Pentyrch and outside the village.
