If you find the blank canvas of a new home garden daunting or you want to know how to spruce up your outdoor space in time for summer, the latest episode of The New Homes Podcast has you covered.

New home gardens come with challenges and opportunities in equal measure and given how much you may have thought about styling your home, you could be forgiven for running out of ideas when it comes to the garden.

With lifestyles changing and people wanting to spend more time outside, the garden is quickly becoming the 5th room of the home and a space to live in, not just to look out on.

To help you navigate the difference between annuals and perennials and understanding what you can have a go at yourselves vs what you should leave to the professionals, we rounded up the best in the business to lend their insight.

Meet the experts

Alexandra Campbell is a garden journalist and founder of the increasingly popular ‘middle sized garden blog and YouTube channel. Her story will be familiar to many - for years she didn't have a garden until finally moved into a home which gave her the space to start getting her hands dirty.

Garden designer and landscaper Ben, has been in the industry for over 15 years, running his own business Walker Landscape & Design for the last 8. Specialising in hard landscaping, he’s led countless garden transformations, many of which have been in gardens of new homes.
