The site was previously the Bishopgarth training centre for Gemma’s employers, West Yorkshire Police, and David’s dad was in charge of running it for many years.
They also love that they live on Butler Way, a street named after Tom Butler, an “infamous” drill sergeant at the training centre for many years.
“It has historic and sentimental value at the same time,” said David.
Perfect home
Now, however, St John’s Mews has provided the perfect place for the couple, who were previously renting, to settle down in the perfect home for their growing family.
They have one child together and four from previous relationships, so needed a home of their own with plenty of space. And that’s what they found in their four-bedroom Fitzroy townhouse.
“It was the right kind of house layout and a great development. It kind of had that feel – like we could make it a home,” David continued.
Gemma loves the balcony off the lounge and the fact the patio doors let in so much light.
“Also, all the bedrooms are a good size, even the smallest,” she added. “I love that the kids’ bedrooms are above us. They have a whole floor to themselves. The integral garage is also a massive bonus for storage.”
With a large family they find that the ground-floor open plan kitchen and dining space has become a ‘hub’ where they all come together to cook, eat and chat.
Great quality and service
Company director David and Gemma looked at a number of other new-build developments in the area and say they chose a Redrow home because of the great build quality. Their experience with us is also something that has really stood out.
“Even after the sale has gone through the service just continues. The Redrow journey that we’ve had and the whole experience has just been absolutely great,” Gemma said.
Now engaged and planning a wedding, Gemma and David both agree that moving to St John’s Mews hasn’t just provided them with their first home together, it’s given them a lifestyle and a safe, friendly community too.
While St John’s Mews is now fully sold, you can find other Redrow developments.
