Our Redrow Midlands division, whose developments include Kensington Gate, in Worcester, and Silverbrook Meadow, in Redditch – has donated £750 to local organisation, West Mercia Search and Rescue, as part of its Community Fund initiative, which supports local charities.
A completely volunteer-led charity, West Mercia Search and Rescue was mobilised by West Mercia Police to support vulnerable people across the region and provide extra support during emergencies. The service relies on donations to cover all costs, including training and equipment, and was badly affected during the COVID-19 pandemic when usual fundraising activity was forced to stop.
The money received from Redrow Midlands will be used to fund a new training manikin, known as the ‘man overboard search and rescue manikin’, which will be used in training to help crew members develop their ability to spot and recover those in need in the water. Alongside West Mercia Search and Rescue, six other charities benefited from the pot of funding – which saw a total of £5,000 donated – including Stratford Music Network, Worcestershire Animal Rescue and Changes Tamworth.
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Redrow Midlands, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to donate funds to these worthy causes in the Midlands, including West Mercia Search and Rescue. These charities and organisations are vital to the local communities they operate within and we’re proud to support them.
“All seven groups – from music groups to animal rescue centres – provide vital services to the area and we are delighted to have been able to support them. The work West Mercia Search and Rescue’s do is very important, and I think I speak on behalf of the whole team here at Redrow Midlands when I say we’re incredibly grateful for their hard work and sacrifice.”
Our Midlands division currently has eleven developments across the region, including Abbey Walk and Abbey Fields, Heritage Fields and Poets Grange. These sought-after developments offer homes from our award-winning Heritage Collection, combining classic architecture inspired by the arts and crafts era, with high-spec, modern interiors.
With the lighter nights approaching, sales offices at all developments across the Midlands will be holding late night events, staying open until 7:30pm to accommodate busy schedules.
