Hatton Horse Show, that took place on Saturday, September 14, in Daresbury, is a community-run family event that runs once a year. The show is run solely by volunteers and can only keep going with donations.
We donated £500 from our community fund, linked to Daresbury Garden Village, to the show that was used towards purchasing a new jump.
Jo Turner, show organiser, said: “Our show is well attended by many in the local community especially children who can take part in our confidence building classes. We needed to update some of the showjumping fences in order to make them safer for competitors, so Redrow’s donation has enabled this. I could not solely organise this event so I’m very thankful to Tracey Ellam and Sophie Cameron who help and support me.”
The show aims to include everyone of all abilities and ages and encourages the community to come together to support equestrians.
Chris Edwards, area sales manager at Redrow NW, said: “The show has been a long-standing favourite of the area. For the event to still be going 76 years later is a big achievement and it’s great to see that riders of all ages take part. We hope the new jump can be used for years to come.”
