The club, that is linked to Murdishaw West Community Primary School, provides wraparound care for pupils and aims to give children the chance to have fun after a busy day at school.
Marissa Knowles, manager of the Link Club, said: “We are dedicated to giving our children great experiences that help boost their mental health and physical wellbeing. Our children love animals, we have three sausage dogs Burger, Ketchup and Brian, who visit the club so we knew that bringing in a local charitable farm, Bredon Farm, would be a hit.”
There is a weekly programme of events including activities such as arts and crafts, sports activities, baking, quizzes, outdoor play, stories and books. All activities are planned to be appropriate to the different ages and stages of development of the children who attend.
Our donation was from a £6,000 community fund designed to support thriving communities in the local area. The fund has been shared between nine groups and good causes local to Daresbury Garden Village.
Chris Edwards, area sales manager at Redrow NW, said: “It was great to attend the session at the Link Club. The children loved meeting all the animals and it was good to see the sort of service Marissa and the team provide. It’s clear to see all the staff love what they do and it’s such an asset to the local community.”To find out more visit Daresbury Garden Village.
