We have installed the mini library at Kings Moat Garden Village on Wrexham Road, Chester, Ledsham Garden Village in Ledsham, near Little Sutton, Woodford Garden Village, near Stockport and Redrow Hartford to encourage residents to leave finished books and take new ones.
Redrow homeowner Margaret Villano has used the book swap box several times and said: “The box is such a lovely idea. I’ve left numerous books and the next time I go, the books I left have gone so it’s good to see that it’s being used. Books these days can be £10 to buy new and when I’ve finished a book, the last thing I want to do is throw it away. This allows us to share the joy that books bring and something that I hope will be used for years to come.”
Redrow NW sales director Anna Evans-Kerr said: “Our aim is to continue to build really strong communities and bring customers together after they’ve moved into their homes and it’s great to see that our communities have embraced the book boxes. What’s even better is that the community have taken ownership of the boxes and have been ensuring they are looked after and clean which is lovely to see.”
