The talk was given by our health and safety manager Adam Brown and assistant site manager Joe Griffiths, to warn of the dangers of playing near a construction site.
“It is important for us to inform youngsters of the potential dangers on a building site. It’s especially important that children who live in the communities we are building in are aware of those hazards,” said Adam.
“We spoke about what dangers exist on a site as well as why the team wear certain protective clothing, including hard hats, gloves, safety boots and high vis clothing.
“It was great to visit St Mary’s. All the pupils gave us their full attention and really got involved with the talk. Thank you to Mr Campbell for helping us to arrange the visit.”
Mr Campbell, deputy head at St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary School said: “The Elf and Safety talk was a fun and interactive way for the children to learn about the real-life dangers that exist on building sites.
“As our community expands and grows, it's important that the children realise not to go near building sites, and I felt that the team at Redrow really got this message across in a fun and engaging way.
“The children were delighted with their free hi visibility vests and the undoubted highlight of the day was getting to meet Buster!”
We are currently building properties at Ledsham Garden Village, a development close to St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary School.
Oaklands is the latest phase in the popular Ledsham Garden Village, which will eventually be a community of 2,000 homes off Ledsham Road. It will also be home to a shop, a community building, allotments, meadow parkland, and an orchard.
