Six members of the team took on the challenge, cycling 145 miles across the county’s bridleways and lanes in just two days. In (mostly) glorious sunshine, the team took in Whitstable and Wye, before an overnight stop in Dover saw some much-needed R&R. The second day kicked off in rain and wind, but the team made it through Dungeness and Rye still smiling, before completing the circuit and enjoying a few well-earned beers!
Despite a puncture, a couple of unscheduled dismounts, and some slightly inclement weather on Day 2, the team made it back in one piece, raising funds for two important causes along the way.
Ben Fewsdale, Managing Director of Redrow South East, commented: “We’re so proud of our colleagues that have completed such a significant journey for two incredibly worthwhile charities. At Redrow, we’re always keen to support our local community and are delighted to have raised such an incredible amount for two charities making a real difference in the lives of young people and families across Kent. We’d like to thank all our sponsors for taking the time to support the team.”
Caroline Fish, Corporate Relationship Manager at Dandelion Time, said: “We’re so grateful for the impact Redrow will be making to Dandelion Time! Every contribution Redrow makes will have an immediate and beneficial effect on the therapeutic work we do, enabling us to support more children and families struggling with the effects of trauma. We’re looking forward to a long and positive partnership with Redrow South East!”
Leah Poppy-Saunders, Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer at ellenor, said: “We’re so excited to be working with Redrow Homes Southeast as their chosen charity for 2023. The values of both ellenor and Redrow are perfectly aligned, and we share the same goals of strengthening communities and improving people’s lives.”
Dandelion Time provides a unique form of nature-based therapy that helps children struggling with the effects of trauma, abuse, or neglect. Their farm settings, in Ashford, Gravesend, and Maidstone, provide structured therapeutic sanctuaries where children feel safe and valued, supported by a wide variety of natural craft activities and interaction with animals.
ellenor has been at the heart of Kent for over 25 years, supporting thousands of families facing life-limiting illnesses and providing hospice care for both adults and children living in North Kent and Bexley.
Their work encompasses both home visits and their hospice in Gravesend, enabling families to make the most of every second they have together.
We are currently delivering new homes across Kent, including developments in Ebbsfleet, Herne Bay, Maidstone, and Canterbury.
