Graduates from our South Midlands division, currently building at Kingsland Park on Goodwood Avenue, rolled up their sleeves to give the outdoor spaces at Pattishall CofE Primary School a new lease of life.
The initiative, a key part of our Graduate Programme which encourages new team members to engage with the communities they operate within, saw 13 graduates visit the school over three days to complete extensive, much-needed works.
Thanks to their support, three outdoor play areas were renovated, and new features were fitted, including a mud kitchen, planters, bird boxes, a water play station, and AstroTurf. A friendship bench was also renovated, and a new decking area, complete with chalkboards, was created.
Part of the project, Kweku Buah, Construction Graduate, said: “This was a good experience on the whole. Getting to meet the other graduates and working together to put smiles on the lovely faces around the school was really satisfying.”
Paul Borrowdale, Emerging Talent Manager, said: “As part of our commitment to support the next generation of housebuilders, we feel it is important to go beyond the core, technical aspects of the job.
“Here at Redrow, we believe we have a duty to support and create thriving communities, so a key part of our Graduate Programme is to engage with the ones we operate within. This includes Towcester and Northamptonshire – our South Midlands team is based just a stone’s throw away from the school, and new homes are currently being built at the nearby Kingsland Park development.
“With this in mind, when Pattishall CofE Primary School came to us with their project, we all knew we had to help. I’d like to thank everyone involved – I’m very proud of the works our graduates have completed, and I hope they are too.”
Emma McLean, Head Teacher at Pattishall CofE Primary School, said: “A lack of funding has meant that many of our outdoor areas were looking tired – so we reached out to Redrow for their help, as we knew they were building in the area.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the graduates’ voluntary support, which has completely transformed our outdoor play areas. It was amazing to see the smiles on the pupils’ faces when we unveiled our revamped facilities, and there’s no doubt we’ll be making the most out of it for years to come. Thank you Redrow!”
