Located closeby to our leafy and picturesque development Romansfield, the picnic bench is ideal for the implementation of the outdoor nature classes. This is part of our commitment to giving back to local communities, which in the past has consisted of covering food and drinks costs at the Jubilee party organised by Romansfield residents.
The picnic bench will be used for numerous activities which is all part of a scheme to encourage school children to engage in more outdoor activities. This will include gardening activities, along with several others which aim to stimulate a positive mental and physical wellbeing.
Claire Mortimer, the school’s headteacher, commented: “We are delighted to provide our children with the opportunity to play outdoors more, even using the bench as somewhere to relax during breaktimes and lunchtimes. If there is one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it is that being outdoors is crucial for our mental wellbeing. We thank Redrow for this generous gesture.”
Redrow Area Sales Manager, Kevin Bradford, stated: “Redrow is always keen on giving back to our local community, especially to our local schools and encouraging a focus on the outdoors! It is great to see the children so active as a result of our donation.”
The school is situated close to our Romansfield development, which is within easy reach of both Exeter and Plymouth, and just minutes away from the Dartmoor National Park. For anyone wanting to enjoy an active, outdoor life, Okehampton provides the perfect facilities to ensure that residents can experience this.
The development will create spacious three- and four-bedroom family homes, just a mile from the town centre and right next door to a brand-new primary school, making it an ideal location for families looking to settle in a relaxing and peaceful neighbourhood.
