Last Friday we sponsored a Celebration Day hosted by Gloucestershire’s Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF) Programme. The event, which ran between 11am and 3pm, offered lots of fun activities for primary and secondary school children.
The HAF programme is funded by the Department of Education for children in reception up to year eleven who receive benefits-related free school meals. Over the course of this summer, HAF have been providing four weeks of activities for children with the aims of keeping them entertained, active, educated, safe and fed.
Their Celebration Day, which was a part of this programme, was hosted by Grange Primary School in Tuffley. The day was packed with a range of activities such as sports, games, arts and crafts and face painting. Throughout the day there were also food, drinks and a smoothie bike available to all attendees.
Charlotte Newnes, area sales manager for South West said: "It is wonderful to be able to help provide children, who are central to our local thriving communities, with equal opportunities. We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone enjoy HAF’s Celebration Day which will be a fantastic way to bring the summer to a close.”
Grange Primary School is situated by our Glevum Green development which is right in the heart of historic Gloucester. Its award winning three and four-bedroom homes are a stone’s throw from excellent schools and the city’s cultural hotspots such as Gloucester’s ancient Cathedral. Located nearby the A40 and M5, our Glevum Green development also has fantastic travel routes.
