The fun event was hosted by our health and safety manager Lorna Jubb, area construction manager Dion Sykes and graduate trainee Robert Volosyanko, to warn children of the dangers of playing near a construction site.
“We had lots of fun visiting Ravenfield Primary and the children loved meeting our Mascot Buster Bear. It is so important for young children to know the dangers of a building site, especially those who live in communities where we are building,” said Lorna.
“These talks are prepared with children in mind, so we brought along our mascot Buster who helped us to demonstrate the potential hazards. We also talked though our protective clothing on site, including hard hats, gloves, safety boots and high vis clothing.
“Thank you to all the pupils at Ravenfield Primary Academy for giving us their full attention and to Miss Jepson for helping us to arrange this visit.”
Miss Jepson, associate principal at Ravenfield Primary Academy said: "It was a pleasure to welcome the Redrow team to Ravenfield.
“It was essential that we spoke to our children about the near-by building sites and the risks associated with these workplaces. The team delivered important messages in a fun and engaging way.
“Our children thoroughly enjoyed the assembly. They also loved meeting the Redrow mascot and appreciated the very generous gifts. We can't wait to work with the team again in the future."
We are currently building properties at Poppy Fields, a development close to Ravenfield Primary Academy.
The 36-acre development will eventually feature 240 homes in a range of three, four and five-bedroom properties, all from our Heritage Collection. The development will also include a large area of open space, featuring a play area and a community orchard.
