Held this year at Leeds United, the awards recognise inspirational local people and businesses.
The team was put forward by Martin House Children’s Hospice, after supporting the charity for the past 15 years and raising more than £170,000.
Martin House is open 24/7, 365 days a year and currently supports 428 families and 155 bereaved families across Yorkshire. Yearly running costs total £9 million, therefore support from businesses like ourselves is vital.
“We have been supporting Martin House for a number of years now and the team have all helped to raise a considerable amount funds taking part in marathons, The Yorkshire 3 Peaks and Dragon Boat race,” said Redrow Yorkshire’s managing director John Handley.
“Redrow Yorkshire also made a pledge to donate £100 for every private house sale. The team regularly volunteer for the hospice too, sorting out clothes for the shop and undertaking gardening work.
“We are so proud to have been nominated by Martin House and winning this award was the icing on the cake. We’d like to thank all the team at the hospice, who do a wonderful job, and we will continue to offer our support to them any way we can.”
Lizzie Philpott, Partnerships Manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice said: “We are delighted to have nominated Redrow and would like to congratulate all the team on winning the Charitable Business of the Year 2023 award – we are thrilled that their efforts and hard work have been recognised by being crowned winners!
“Redrow are valued partners of Martin House Children’s Hospice and have raised over £170,000 to date to support children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Martin House can only carry on providing our care to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions thanks to the support of firms like Redrow – congratulations once again from all the team for the well-deserved award.”
