Redrow has handed over its annual donation to its charity partner, Martin House Children’s Hospice.

We donated £40,523 to the Wetherby-based hospice, which was raised thanks to the effort of the Yorkshire team by taking part in events throughout the year including the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge, a charity auction and golf day.

Martin House is open 24/7, 365 days a year and currently supports 428 families and 155 bereaved families across Yorkshire. Yearly running costs total £9 million, therefore support from businesses like ours is vital.

Money was also raised through collection boxes, the sale of mini skips, our team members donating household items for the hospice’s retail shops and a pledge by our Yorkshire division to donate £100 for every private house sale made in the financial year 2021/22.

Lizzie Philpott, Partnerships Manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice said: “Redrow Homes is a valued partner of Martin House Children’s Hospice, and we are so grateful for their continued support and commitment to us. Our specialist care gives children with life-limiting conditions and their families’ vital support and time to make precious memories together, which is only possible due to supporters like Redrow.”

Our Yorkshire division managing director John Handley said: “We have worked with Martin House for a number of years now, raising over £169K to date. The hospice team do an incredible job helping children and families across Yorkshire in their time of need.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Redrow who has helped raise funds and also volunteered with the refurbishment of the hospice’s retail shops.

“This is the second year that we’ve donated money from the sale of private homes in Yorkshire, which this year equated to £25,100.

“We hope this donation helps the team in supporting children and their families in our communities.”
