A competition was held with pupils from Bramley Grange Primary School and Ravenfield Primary Academy to name the streets at our new development Poppy Fields, located off Moor Lane South, with support from local councillors Lewis Mills and Greg Reynolds.
Three winning street names were chosen from each school, they are:
• Falcon Road
• Dandelion Avenue
• Woodland Walk
• Bloom Gardens
• Poppy Mews
• Remembrance Way
Steve Jackson, sales director at Redrow Yorkshire, said: “We’d like to thank all the pupils and teachers who got involved in our competition and say a special thanks to the winning pupils who did a great job choosing our new street names.
“They have cemented their place in the local history of this village.”
The winning pupils attended a prize giving event at Poppy Fields, where they each received book vouchers and a stationary set, breakfast and a tour around the new show homes.
Caroline Coates, principle at Ravenfield Primary Academy said: “Our visit to Poppy Fields was brilliant our children and families loved every minute.
“The buffet was delicious, and the children were absolutely thrilled with their prizes. It was great to see the houses and so wonderful to name a street. I know this is something that they will all remember.”
Poppy Fields will eventually feature 240 homes, including 80 affordable properties, 28 of which have been allocated under the Governments ‘First Homes’ initiative, specifically for local first time buyers to purchase.
The 36-acre development will include a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes, all from our Heritage Collection as well as a large area of open space, featuring a play area and a community orchard.
