Ravenfield Rangers Under 13s received the donation to help the team financially over the next season, paying for new netting, renting a floodlit training facility through the winter months, funding the maintenance of their home pitch and purchasing various essential football equipment.
“Junior football costs so much money, we have to raise funds by ourselves and rely on the generosity of companies like Redrow,” said coach Ben Clemitshaw.
“Each season brings new financial challenges, but this donation means we can plan for the foreseeable future. Thanks so much to all the team at Redrow Yorkshire.”
Steve Jackson, sales director for our Yorkshire division said: “We are very happy to be able to offer our financial support to the Ravenfield Rangers. Grassroots sports teams play an important part in bringing communities together and we wish them every success for the season ahead.”
Ravenfield Rangers Under 13s, who play in the Sheffield & District Junior League, train at Hollings Lane, near to where we are currently building at Poppy Fields.
Poppy Fields, located off Moor Lane South, Ravenfield, will eventually feature 240 homes, including 80 affordable properties, 28 of which have been allocated under the Governments ‘First Homes’ initiative, specifically for local first time buyers to purchase.
The 36-acre development will include a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, all from our Heritage Collection as well as a large area of open space, featuring a play area and a community orchard.
