Success for Redrow charity coffee mornings

Coffee mornings held at Redrow Homes’ developments across the UK have raised vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The charity had asked people across the country to host the events as a way of raising money for local Macmillan teams to ensure that no one will have to fight cancer alone.

Last year more than five million people around the UK hosted or attended a coffee morning, raising a record breaking £15m.

Redrow has raised more than £1,400 for Macmillan from its events and staff donations.

Kim Peters, Group sales and marketing director for Redrow Homes, praised events’ success: “It was great to see so many people come along to show their support for Macmillan at our coffee mornings and, in turn, it was an opportunity for us to support the local communities in which we build. We’re very proud to be associated with Macmillan Cancer Support and delighted to be making a donation to a charity that is close to everyone’s hearts. We hope to make the coffee mornings an annual event.”

Redrow also added an extra incentive for potential homebuyers to attend by offering them the chance to take the ‘15 minute mortgage challenge’ to find out if they could secure a mortgage on a new home in the time it took to enjoy a cuppa.

Kim added: “As an extra draw to attract more visitors we offered those in the market for a new home the opportunity to take our 15 minute mortgage challenge. It was a bit of fun but also hopefully helped some potential purchasers too.”
