With a fundraising target of £5,000, 11 staff based at the award-winning house builder’s St David’s Park head office, in Ewloe, have teamed up to take on the mammoth task for the third year in a row, and are now deep in training to reach peak fitness for the September challenge.
From September 8 to 10, they will have just 48 hours to climb three peaks: Snowdon, in Wales (1085m), Scafell Pike, in England (978m) and Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1345m).
All funds raised will be donated to Redrow’s chosen charity of the year, North East Wales Mind, which is committed to helping people across Flintshire and Wrexham manage their mental wellbeing. The charity supports those recovering from mental health problems to stay emotionally healthy, and also offers information, guidance, talking therapies and much more.
Redrow’s Rachel Beckett said: “Mental health problems can affect anyone at any time, and charities like NEW Mind are providing much needed support to people in Flintshire who need a helping hand when they’re going through a distressing time.
“This is the third year in a row we have taken on this challenge but it won’t be easy, and we want to break through our fundraising target of £5,000 to help NEW Mind to offer even greater resources for people in North West Wales coping with mental health issues.
“So far we have raised just over £2,000 but there is still a long way to go. We’re so grateful for all the support we’ve had so far and if anyone wants to show their support, they can do so by visiting our Virgin Money Giving page.”
