Buster visit Alder Hey 1.a5a0b808bb8017fd

Redrow spreads Christmas joy at Alder Hey

For many people a cuddle with a teddy is the perfect tonic when they’re unwell so a visit from Redrow’s health and safety mascot Buster Bear was the ideal pre-Christmas gift for patients at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Buster was joined at the hospital by Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), and marketing co-ordinator Janine Edwards.

Armed with gifts, they visited wards L2 (palette, tonsils and tracheotomies) and E2 (orthopaedics) and gave toys and games to patients.

Claire commented: “Many of those who work for Redrow at our Liverpool developments Cressington Heath and Summerhill Park developments are parents and we all recognise how distressing it can be to have a child who is ill and in hospital, particularly over the festive period. We wanted to bring some Christmas joy to Alder Hey and hope that the children enjoyed meeting Buster Bear and receiving their presents.”

Chris Done, head of fundraising and PR at Alder Hey, said: “It was a lovely gesture for Redrow to bring presents for the children in two of our wards. When you’re unwell there’s nothing better than a cuddle with a teddy so being able to meet Buster Bear was a real treat for the children.”
