Bangor Club Scores Support from Redrow

A rugby club’s young players are hoping to emulate their World Cup heroes after securing a £1,000 kit deal with Redrow.

The award-winning house builder has not only kitted the players out with shirts, shorts and socks for the Bangor Under 12s rugby team, but the money has also stretched to fund two warm subs coats, perfect for when the subs are the on the touchline in the cold.

The Under 12s manager Sue Roberts said: “The children love their new kit because they now look as professional as their heroes. With such good quality kit we should be able to get a good couple of seasons out of it. They even like standing and watching the rest of the team now as they get to try out the cosy subs coats!

“We’re thrilled that Redrow invested in the club as we’ve got the beginnings of a great Under 12s team here. And with so many young players in our Under 7s team there will be a good build up for the future Under 12s team too. They’ll definitely want to move up now they know there is the potential to play in such lovely kit!”

Bangor Rugby Club was one of the founding members of the Welsh Rugby Union and its members take part in a lot of charity work as well as immersing themselves into sport. The young players have recently trekked up Snowdon to raise money for Hawlifyw, a charity campaigning for specialist cancer treatment for those in Wales.

Jason Newton, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Redrow really values its relationship with local communities and it’s been a pleasure to play a part in supporting grassroots sports in Bangor. It’s fantastic to be able to support these young players, especially when they too are trying to put so much back into their community.”

For those wishing to kick off their own Redrow move, there is currently a range of family homes being built at Goetre Uchaf.

Externally, new Redrow homes give a nod to the past with many period-style architectural features. Internally they are completely on the ball, with bright, modern features designed for ease of living. A selection of four-bedroom detached homes have just been released for sale with prices starting from £316,995.
