Creating a strong bond with Redrow and Lytham

Having  holidayed in the Fylde coast resort of Lytham, Lancashire, for years, Jacquie Bond was more than ready to make her beloved holiday home a permanent one.

And, having first of all plumped for one of Redrow’s traditional looking Heritage Collection family homes as a second property, she’s now upgraded to one of the company’s luxury, upmarket villas as her “forever” home.

Redrow had been recommended to her by her sister who had owned new homes by the award-winning housebuilder in the past.

Jacquie, 50, her husband Michael, 51, and daughter Natasha, 24, had always lived in old properties previously but, after visiting Lytham Quays, they fell in love with the Heritage Collection homes which marry traditional exteriors with contemporary interiors.

“We were really impressed by the style,” Jacquie, 50, explained. “They had lots of character and weren’t at all what we were expecting from a new build.”

They plumped for a four-bedroom detached ‘Cambridge’ housetype, originally as a weekend bolthole and holiday home, but, as time moved on, they realised that they wanted to be in Lytham more than their native Stalybridge, in Cheshire.

“We’d been coming to Lytham for about 10 years; the people are really friendly, there’s a lovely range of shops, the schools are great and it’s fabulous for commuters, so we thought; ‘why not move here?’,” Jacquie added.

Soon after moving in, Redrow started building The Villas, a small selection of multi-storey residences in an exclusive gated enclave, with spectacular views across the famous Lytham Green and the Ribble estuary.

“We started to see them go up and we loved them from the word go. We had our hearts set on one as we were watching them being built. We’d already had such a good experience with Redrow so we knew it would be another smooth move if we were to upgrade,” she said.

Having turned their Cambridge into an investment by renting it out, the family has now moved into one of the impressive villas that have been designed to focus firmly on family life.

“We love the whole house but we seem to spend all of our time in the kitchen. It’s incredibly stylish and spacious and we love the fact that it’s open plan. The whole house has been cleverly designed and we love the basement too with its fabulous cinema room.”

Their home also boasts five bedrooms, including the guest suite, and views of the estuary can be enjoyed from the master bedroom’s balcony.

“The house may be huge but every room still maintains a cosy and family-friendly feel,” Jacquie said.

And, added to their love of the Redrow product, the family has also been impressed with how smooth their purchases have been. “It’s been a real joy and we’ve been recommending Redrow to all our friends who love the Lytham developments too. We’ve had great service and we’re very lucky to have our dream home.”

Redrow’s upmarket villas were a double award winner in 2013, picking up a prestigious Northern Design Award and a Highly Commended at the UK Property Awards.

The remaining villas are priced from £1,049,995. To arrange a private viewing of the development and show home call 01253 274 161. Alternatively, visit for more information.
