Time to buy in Liverpool - before it's too late

Homebuyers who want to take advantage of low interest rates, affordable mortgages and Help to Buy should act fast to purchase one of the final homes at Cressington Heath, South Liverpool.

And this Sunday (September 15) could be the perfect opportunity, when Redrow hosts a special event designed to make moving simple and straight forward.

Visitors will be able to discover how Help to Buy makes homeownership easier to afford with the help of  a 20% equity loan from the Government, which is interest free for five years. Customers will then only need a 75% mortgage and 5% deposit to purchase their new home and monthly mortgage repayments should be lower than expected.

The scheme has already enabled thousands of people across the county to get on to or move up the property ladder since it was launched by the Government in April. Coupled with historically low interest rates, it’s played a major part in boosting consumer confidence.

A succession of industry experts have pointed to signs of market recovery during the summer months and predicted further price increases.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “Various banks, analysts and industry bodies are being very optimistic about the housing market and its recovery; mostly pointing to the affordability of mortgages, low interest rates and Help to Buy as the main reasons.  We’ve certainly experienced an uplift in sales activity at our developments as a result of Help to Buy.

“Already popular with buyers, Cressington Heath has seen increased reservations through the Government scheme. We’re currently guiding others through the buying process and would urge anyone who is thinking of buying here to get in touch without delay. They may be surprised to discover that savings of around £9,000 could be enough for a deposit on a three-bedroom Faygate style property.”

The Faygate is available from £179,995 on the open market or an initial outlay of £143,996 with Help to Buy. The 20% equity loan can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or when they resell.

Set out over three floors to maximise the potential of the space available, the Faygate features an open-plan kitchen and dining room plus separate lounge to the ground floor. Two bedrooms and the family bathroom are on the first floor, while its crowning glory is the master bedroom with en-suite and balcony on the top floor.

There are also four-bedroom detached homes available in two different styles from Redrow’s Arts & Crafts influenced Heritage Collection, priced from £229,995.

To find out more about using Help to Buy to purchase one of the final properties at Cressington Heath, visit the sales office, off Garston Road, from 11am to 4pm this Sunday (September 15).
