Mayor Cllr Doreen Stephenson and Deputy Mayor Cllr Rosie Evans cut the ribbon at the launch event in Banks to mark the variety of three and four-bedroom homes going on sale.
Named The Coppice, the semi-rural venture provides the best of both worlds as the small village with a strong community feel also boasts good access to Southport and, further afield, to Preston and Liverpool.
Cllr Doreen Stephenson said: “It has given me great pleasure to open The Coppice which will provide new high quality homes to meet local demand. It will also bring construction jobs to Banks while the building work is underway so it’s great to be able to welcome Redrow to the area.”
Redrow’s development is also bringing a number of important community benefits, including affordable housing and a £120,000 contribution to off-site public open space. This will include a children’s play space and outdoor green gym at the neighbouring North Meols Leisure Centre. The development itself will feature almost four acres of landscaping, open space and mature trees, including a balancing pond which creates an attractive entrance feature.
Combining Arts and Crafts inspired traditional exteriors, the homes at The Coppice will all be from the housebuilder’s sought-after Heritage Collection. Homes will feature contemporary interiors with an emphasis on convivial open-plan spaces for modern family living and thoughtfully planned kitchens incorporating top brand name appliances.
Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “We are delighted that The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of West Lancashire have officially opened The Coppice and it was great to see so many people from the local community turn up to see what this impressive development has to offer.
“We’ve built in the area before with developments like Guinea Hall Farm and Woodvale Place. Now it’s great to be back with our very latest Heritage Collection family homes, which exude quality and style, perfectly complementing the traditional feel of Banks.”
Those wishing to visit the venture can get a feel of the lifestyle on offer thanks to two beautifully furnished showhomes: the four-bedroom detached ‘Cambridge’ and the three-bedroom ‘Letchworth’ semi.
With prices ranging from £199,995 up to £289,995 there are plenty of options for first-time buyers, downsizers or families seeking more space to accommodate their growing brood.
What’s more, Redrow’s Mastermove scheme could help homeowners sell up and move on quickly, without fuss and expensive estate agent fees.
Customers who sign up for Mastermove will have their property valued and, once a selling price is agreed, Redrow instructs a local estate agent and online agent to market the property on their behalf. Crucially, the housebuilder keeps in regular contact with all parties to ensure the sales process runs quickly and smoothly and they will even pay the estate agent’s fees at the end of the day. All it takes is a small deposit of £50, which will be refunded upon completion.
Banks itself has local amenities including convenience shops, two primary schools and the neighbouring leisure centre, which boasts a sports hall, all-weather pitches and a fitness suite.
Approximately four miles away, Southport has plenty of shops, café bars and restaurants – including footballer Steven Gerrard’s Warehouse Kitchen & Bar with its Michelin starred chef. Closer to home, Banks Marsh on the Ribble Estuary is popular with walkers and bird watchers.
