Employee of the Year Title Gave Jonathan a Well-Deserved Lift

Everything is working out well for Redrow designer Jonathan Croasdale, who celebrated being named Employee of the Year by joining a gym!

Jonathan, 31, from Whittle-Le-Woods, was presented with the prestigious title for the Lancashire area after only two-and-a-half years with the prestigious housebuilder.

He said: “I wasn’t expecting it at all, but I’m thrilled.”

And Jonathan, who arrived home from a holiday in London, where he had spent time with his family from Spain, to discover the news, added: “Most people return home from a break to dirty laundry and bills, so to come back to such news was great!”

Jonathan made a new start with Redrow at the end of 2013 after being made redundant from a firm of architects. He initially joined as an assistant site manager before securing his current role as a designer based at the Redrow Homes (Lancashire) office in Buckshaw Village, near Chorley.

He said: “It is my job to look at planning applications and design layouts for Redrow’s many house types. Our open plans designs are really popular with young professionals and families, and we are always looking at ways to improve and adapt them.

“Obviously my career with Redrow is in its infancy but I hope to progress as I really enjoy working here, and this has certainly added to my enthusiasm and motivation.”

As well as the pride in receiving the accolade, Jonathan was presented with a cash prize, which he has already spent.

“The money has gone on gym membership,” he admitted. “I joined with a couple of other lads from the office and we go to the gym before work. We encourage and support each other which, to be honest, is the ethos of Redrow through and through.”

The award was given to him by a panel of company directors, but only after Jonathan was nominated by colleagues for regularly going ‘above and beyond’ in his daily duties and going out of his way to help those working around him.

Steve Greenhalgh, managing director of Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “Jonathan is a very pleasant and popular member of staff who is always helpful and responds to requests, not just quickly, but always with a smile on his face.

“A lot of queries are last minute but Jonathan reacts promptly and without complaint.

“Jonathan does his job willingly, efficiently and enthusiastically. He goes above and beyond and, literally, we couldn’t ask more of him than he gives. He is a true professional and thoroughly deserves the award he has been given.”
