Falconry day at high flying Stretton Green

Eagle-eyed families are being invited to a special event at a luxury housing venture near Chester to enjoy watching birds of prey take to the skies.

The afternoon event at Redrow’s Stretton Green on Saturday May 17 will include displays from Cheshire Falconry, a competition to win a spa day for two, and there will be a barbecue courtesy of traditional family butchers Jamie Ward, based at the Bellis Brothers Farm Shop and Garden Centre in Holt.

In the heart of rural Cheshire, just 10 miles from Chester, Stretton Green is an exclusive enclave of country homes. The houses have been carefully arranged around a village green where the events will take place between midday and 4pm.

Sam Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to the event which we hope will be a lovely family occasion. As well as seeing the impressive birds of prey on display, people can tuck into the delicious food and see the beautiful homes and the family-friendly lifestyle on offer at Stretton Green. The village green is perfect for community activities and we’ll be able to showcase that on the day.”

Surrounded by idyllic countryside, Stretton Green offers an impressive selection of four and five-bedroom detached homes.

The prestigious development sits adjacent to the 1,000 acre Carden Park Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa. With two stunning golf courses, plus a host of other leisure pursuits, residents are positively encouraged to enjoy the hotel’s facilities.

Home owners will benefit from a bespoke leisure package, which includes a two-year full membership of the golf club as well as extensive use of the hotel’s spa facilities, and there is private buggy access from Stretton Green straight onto the golf course.

Visitors can also enter into a draw to win a spa day for two at the resort.

Current prices at Stretton Green range from £750,000 for a four-bedroom ‘Bromley’ style home, complete with Tudor arched porch, up to £950,000 for the substantial ‘Melbury’ with its five double bedrooms and ample living space for all the family. The Melbury’s premium specification also includes marble flooring and various landscape packages are available.

Nearby, the charming villages of Tilston and Farndon and Holt and Malpas offer local family essentials, including village schools, shops and excellent pub fayre.

Redrow’s bespoke development won the coveted Gold Award at the 2013 What House? Awards for Best Exterior Design.
