Great choice for people banking on a better home

A coastal village only a few miles from the Victorian seaside town of Southport, Banks is a beautiful place to base you and your brood.

And it’s here that Redrow has created The Coppice, offering luxury living close to the Ribble Estuary national nature reserve.

The Coppice is home to Redrow’s prized Heritage Collection homes; and, with only around half a dozen of the Arts & Crafts inspired houses left for sale, buyers will need to move quickly if they want to make a sound investment in one of these much-praised properties in such a picturesque place.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “There is something wonderful about Banks each and every season.

“In the summer the nearby saltmarshes attract many of our feathered friends, including terns, skylarks or redshanks; while from September, wild birds like whooper swans and pink-footed geese from as far away as Russia and Iceland make it their home.

“Not surprisingly people have been prepared to travel to make this location their home too and this former small farming and fishing community on the West Lancashire coastal plain has become a popular commuter base for people working in Southport, Preston and Liverpool.

“Our Heritage Collection properties are now well over 90% sold though, so anyone wanting to be part of The Coppice does need to hurry to feather their nest.”

Whilst there are some smaller two and three-bedroom properties being offered at two-thirds of market value via Redrow’s ‘Advantage’ incentive, it’s the three and four-bedroom Heritage Collection family homes that are in short supply; from the Letchworth three-bedroom semi at £219,995 to the spacious four-bedroom detached Canterbury with attached double garage, at £309,995.

Among them is the four-bedroom Stratford, ideal for families looking for more space or room to expand. At £246,995, this delightful detached offers a traditionally designed property with a modern and airy interior.

The open plan kitchen and dining area will quickly become the heart of this family home, while a charming lounge offers a space for privacy and relaxation, and a cloakroom and designated laundry space attend to the practicalities of making life easier.

Upstairs, all four bedroom offer plenty of space for their occupants, while the master bedroom benefits from a must-have en-suite shower room too.

The Coppice isn’t just for those who want to take a more gentle approach to life. It’s also ideal for those who like to power through each day with championship golf courses in the area and watersports and outdoor pursuits at the nearby Leisure Lakes in Mere Brow.

And, Claire adds, the Help to Buy scheme lends a hand in making properties more affordable, with a 20% Government equity loan that’s interest free for the first five years and requiring a minimum deposit of just 5%.

“So the four-bedroom Stratford can be bought for an initial outlay of only £197,596, comprising a deposit of £12,350 and a 75% mortgage from a lender of choice,” she explains.
