Help to Buy benefit to help more homeowners in Wales

Buying your own home is now even more achievable for would-be house purchasers in Wales.

The Welsh Government recently announced an extension to the Help to Buy Wales scheme, which is an incentive available to buyers at two Redrow developments in Buckley.

Help to Buy is available on all homes under £300,000 at the Abode and Heathlands developments off Drury Lane.

It follows the announcement by The Welsh Government that it is to invest up to £290 million in the second phase of Help to Buy Wales*.

The funding will help to support the construction of more than 6,000 new Welsh homes between 2016-2021, significantly boosting Wales' building industry and making home ownership more achievable for thousands more families.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Government said: “Help to Buy Wales is delivering exactly what it was set out to do, by helping first time buyers get onto the property ladder and helping families secure a decent, affordable home.”

And would-be buyers need look no further than Redrow's two stunning developments in the Flintshire town.

Its Abode venture offers three and four bedroom homes from just £223,995. The properties offer largely open plan living spaces and in-vogue features such as underfloor heating and wet rooms, perfect for a younger audience or ‘trendy’ downsizers.

And with just a few properties remaining Redrow is offering additional incentives to buy, including free carpets and turf to the rear garden.

Meanwhile the Heathlands development is as welcoming as the Heritage Collection homes being built there. There is a range of two, three and four bedroom properties available, all beautifully crafted and designed with modern living in mind.

Airy and open plan spaces that are centred on family life coupled with traditional architecture, mean that the homes are as aesthetically pleasing as they are comfortable, and prices start from just £222,995.

Sales director Jason Newton, said: “The homes still available at Abode offer first-time buyers a boost onto the property ladder as we’re throwing in additional items to make a move even easier such as integrated appliances, carpets and turf.”

“Meanwhile Heathlands is a fantastic development that has delivered not only much needed high quality new homes, but also extensive open space and a nature reserve for the benefit of everyone in the community. With Help to Buy available at both buyers could be pleasantly surprised at how much they can afford.”

* Help to Buy Wales includes a 20% equity loan that’s interest free for five years on homes up to £300,000. This reduces the initial outlay and means customers only have to find a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.
